As a recovering codependent, I have had to take a radically different approach with dating to heal myself, and I how I show up in relationships. I had to choose behaviors that were initially very uncomfortable and unnatural at first to learn how to become more secure in my relationship style. The work has been extensive, but also very enlightening and rewarding.

Believing Myself into Becoming a Runner

As a young girl, I was taught to believe that women in my family weren’t built to be runners.

Why? Because we all have large breasts is what I was told…Even just merely typing that “justification” now feels ridiculous. These days, I run 5 miles a day and have been a runner for the last 8 years.

In yoga, a Drishti is your point of focus and “a means of developing concentrated intention”. Yogis usually refer to this as a physical point of focus, something to hold your gaze, so that you don’t lose your balance.
